Telerik Menu: all-in-one menu component for ASP.NET

Telerik menu
It streamlines the creation of any thinkable DHTML drop-down menu - horizontal, vertical, pop-up, scrollable, with classic outlook or with customized fonts, images, fading effects, event-handlers, and so on. rad menu is "Section 508" compliant.

Widest cross-browser support on the market
telerik rad menu V 2.8 supports all major browsers and platforms: Internet Explorer 5.0+; all Gecko-based browsers - Mozilla 1.0+, FireFox, Netscape 7+, Opera 7.5x+, Safari 1.21+ (Mac - without context menu support) and Konqueror (Linux).

Search Engine Support
r.a.d. menu now generates code, which can be fully crawled and indexed by search-engines. Moreover, the menu will render a hierarchical list of hyperlinks, which can be used for navigation even when JavaScript is disabled or not present.

Visual configurator - rad menu Design Studio
To help you rapidly create and configure your menus in a fully visual environment, the r.a.d. menu component is shipped with a Design Studio. It can be used as a standalone application or can be fully integrated in Visual Studio, with support for both grid and flow layout.

Support for keyboard shortcuts
A major part of the end-users are accustomed to using keyboard shortcuts extensively. With the rad menu you can hook actions to "MenuItems" so that they are fired using keyboard shortcuts. (e.g. Ctrl-S for Save, Ctrl-P for Print, F2 for New, etc.) Moreover, keyboard support as per "Section 508" is a fundamental requirement for all software products that will be used in US federal institutions.

Display over Flash, ActiveX, windowed objects
A common limitation of many menu components is their inability to work over Flash, ActiveX, windowed objects (select boxes), and other 3-rd party components. This imposes great limitation in terms site design and page content. In r.a.d. menu all those problems are eliminated. (Supported on Internet Explorer 5.5+ only!).

New entirely event-driven client model
rad menu features a fully-functional client-side API, which is a subset of the server-side API. The menu fires various client-side events (click, highlight, etc) and provides client-side object model for items and groups that can be processed without postback.

Ability to disable/enable the View-State
In case no postback is needed you can disable the View-State of r.a.d. menu in order to optimize the menu size.

Automatic Post-Back function
Thanks to the new "Auto-Post-Back" attribute developers may set all items of the menu to Post-Back regardless of other settings.

New MenuItem and Menu-Group attributes
The recent versions of rad menu introduce much richer functionality with a number of new attributes for MenuItem (Status-Bar-Tool-Tip, Key, AltKey, Ctrl-Key, Visible, Value, Category) and for Menu-Group (Hide-Delay).

Easily switch orientation (vertical/horizontal) and expand direction (down, up, left, right)
The flexibility of r.a.d. menu gives you full control of the appearance of your menus - choose from virtually all existing styles of menus - vertical, horizontal, mixed and set the direction of menu groups to fit the feel of your designs and the flow of information.

Support for scrollable menus
Too much information for 15"? With rad menu, you'll never have to worry if your menu expands embarrassingly beyond the screen of users. r.a.d. menu automatically sizes your menus and creates a scroll for your users to access all information without confusion and frustration.

Support for context (right-click) menus
Harness the full potential of rad menu - use it everywhere in your solutions where a pop-up menu would help users access information more conveniently. Go beyond the conventional navigation - use it for context help within your system, or set dynamic links in the body text of your pages. Whatever your use of r.a.d. menu, its flexibility and scalability guarantee to accommodate it easily.

Multiple menus on a single page are allowed
Challenged by a navigational task? rad menu allows the use of multiple menus on one page, reusing a single code library for faster development and speed on the client.

Populate menus from an SQL database or using the powerful API
Seamless integration with SQL technology makes r.a.d. menu the preferred component for dynamic web-applications. Populate your menus with items directly from your database, reusing queries and cutting on updates. Alternatively, you can use the powerful set of run-time API to add, delete, disable/enable, check/uncheck items programmatically.

Fully customizable appearance through CSS
All styling is exported to an external CSS file. With a single line of code, you can change the font, text size, color, backgrounds, borders, width, height, even position - virtually any aspect of the appearance of your menu. Set hover states, On-Click states, fading and shadow effects from the comfort of CSS.

Support for alternative CSS formating (image swap On-Mouse-Over)
Add interactivity to your menus! Grab your audience with hover states, expansion animation effects, and switch transitions. With rad menu, it is easier than ever to add value to your products and fascinate your customers.

Strict division between code (C#), data (XML), and style (CSS)
Put an end to the confusing fusion of content and style tags in html. Code, data, and style are stored in separate files, each with the industry standard for that area - C#, XML, and CSS. The division between code, data, and style naturally divides responsibility and accountability within the team - this time, you don't have to do anything but the code - let designers do their job in CSS and the copy-writers - theirs in XML.

Change structure/appearance at runtime
Prepare for easy updates - across-the-board styling changes are now achieved with a single line of CSS. The intuitive representation of data in XML allows for instant updates of the menu structure by non-technical personnel - it all boils down to deleting or adding a line of text.

Obtain reference to the correct state of the menu (XML) at runtime
When you add or remove menu items the XML-based structure of the menu is modified. r.a.d. menu allows you to obtain the so updated structure at run-time immediately after the change has been made.

Support for server-side (postback) and client-side (java-script) events
rad menu offer a fully functional event model API for both server-side and client-side events.
