Diskeeper Corporation, formerly Executive Software, was founded on July 22, 1981. During this time, the company has logged many technical achievements in the VMS and Windows industries with products like Diskeeper.

For 19 years the Diskeeper automatic defragmenter has led the industry in defragmentation technology - a fact which is confirmed by the 231 awards received by Diskeeper in 2004 alone. Originally released in 1986 for the Digital VMS platform, Diskeeper became the first and original "Set It and Forget It" automatic disk defragmenter for the enterprise.
